“A One Term Proposition”

October 1, 2012 By Editor Leave a Comment

President Obama ran on hope and change when he asked America to make him the president. On the day he took office gasoline prices were $1.79. It is now double that, and has been for years.

Savaging his predecessor for the economy he inherited, Obama never tires of explaining the reasons for his many failures–it’s Bush’s fault.

The average unemployment rate under George Bush was 5.2 percent, considered nearly full employment for those seeking work. This despite the fact that Bush inherited a recession from Clinton, and the 9/11 attacks harmed the national economy immeasurably. What has harmed the economy since Obama took over? Just Obama–with the largest middle-class tax hike in history in the form of Obamacare, trillion dollar deficits every year of his administration, an out-of-control debt, regulation that’s shutting down factories and the coal industry, anti-energy and growth policies, sending many billions of dollars overseas for “green jobs” for foreigners, etc., etc., etc.

Candidate Obama blasted the Bush administration for its “dismal numbers” of 5.2% unemployment, its $3 trillion deficit in 8 years, and its high gasoline prices propping up the oil industry.

In just 3.5 years Obama has taken the national debt from $10 to $16, gasoline prices are stuck near $4.00 a gallon with no relief in sight and the real unemployment and underemployment rate remains above 15 percent, and it is much worse for American minorities.

Even the government’s official unemployment numbers have the president’s unemployment rate above 8 percent for most of his administration, averaging 9.0 percent. The actual numbers put unemployment at more than 15%, with 23,000,000 Americans unemployed or horribly underemployed.  Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke testified earlier that he projects the official rate will remain between 8.2 and 8.5 percent for the remainder of 2012, and that fails to take into consideration all of the job seekers who just give up and fade away from government statistics.

You may recall President Obama’s famous interview with Matt Lauer on “Today” on February 1, 2009 (we’ve inserted the video below), just after taking office as he asked the congress for his first economic stimulus package—nearly $900 billion.

Lauer: At some point will you say ‘Wait a minute. We’ve spent this amount of money; we’re not seeing the results. We’ve got to change course dramatically.’

Obama: Look, I’m at the start of my administration. One nice thing I find about the situation I find myself in is that I will be held accountable. I’ve got four years. A year from now people are going to see that we’re starting to make some progress, but there’s still going to be some pain out there. If I don’t have this done in three years then there’s going to be a one term proposition.

A one term proposition indeed.

Netanyahu Urges Americans to Vote for Romney

September 17, 2012 By Editor 5 Comments

In an unprecedented direct appeal to US voters on Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged American voters to elect a president willing to draw a “red line” with Iran. Everyone with any understanding of the political landscape understands that this is an unmistakeable endorsement of Mitt Romney.

In our article on Saturday, Why Catholics and Jews Should Support Romney (September 15, 2012), we enumerated the many reasons why American Jews and Catholics should reject the blistering rebukes against their religious interests by President Barack Hussein Obama and embrace the GOP candidate, Mitt Romney. It turns out that the Israeli Prime Minister agrees.

Prime Minister Netanyahu bolstered his plea with comparisons of Tehran’s claims that its nuclear program is for peaceful energy purposes to domestic terrorist Timothy McVeigh, saying that it would be foolish to believe either one has honorable intentions while stocking up on components for WMDs.

Indeed, President Barack Hussein Obama has entirely ignored the many requests of America’s strongest ally in the Middle East since taking office, and has shown distinct and unmistakable favoritism for Muslims and Islamic extremists in the region. With more than 20 Muslim nations now storming America’s embassies, murdering our diplomats, and violently protesting our presence, many GOP leaders are drawing comparisons between the current administration and the similarly naive and flawed administration of President Jimmy Carter–who was overwhelmingly denied a second term by American voters for very similar reasons.

Why Catholics and Jews Should Support Romney

September 15, 2012 By Editor 4 Comments

President Barack Hussein Obama’s open war on Christianity was officially launched less than three months into his presidency on April 15, 2009, when he insisted that the gold “IHS” monograms for the name of Christ be covered up with black painted plywood in Gaston Hall at the Catholic church’s Georgetown University, where he delivered a speech on economics.

Since then Obama and his party have done everything in their power to undermine the Catholic Church’s moral stance on birth control and abortion — attempting to force Catholic institutions and people to accept the administration’s edicts about providing these morally abhorrent services (in the Catholic view) to employees and beneficiaries of their institutions and organizations.

Of course, Barack Obama has always been hostile toward Christianity, and Christian principles, championing anti-Christian causes like gay marriage (although he flipped against it for a few years to get elected, then recently flipped back to rally his base), abortion (which has eliminated tens of millions of American blacks from our population), the poverty and servitude of debt and the government dole, and general principles of immorality (yes, Christianity teaches virtue and honesty). Although he claims to be Christian, when it serves him, his professed brand of “Christianity” is a Black Liberation Theology, which has its roots in Marxism–an anti-Christian philosophy.

Obama has likewise taken draconian stands against one of America’s greatest allies — the State of Israel.  Earlier this week Obama snubbed Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu — as he has done before. The president has thrown Israel and the Jewish people under the bus on several occasions during his first term in the White House, siding with Muslims on nearly every international issue — while they protest America and riot in nearly every nation, murder our diplomats, and spit in our face — yet American Jewish people continue to support his presidency.

So what is the appeal of a leftist president to American Jews? On paper, there should be none — Jewish people tend to be much more self-reliant and ambitious than most ethnic or religious minorities, and not a good prospect for the democratic siren’s song of the Rainbow Coalition. However, a quick look at American Jewish voting patterns demonstrate that they have supported every “progressive” candidate since Woodrow Wilson. The probable reason for their leftist bent is their countries of origin. Indeed, most Jewish people originated from socialist countries, and even the State of Israel was established as a socialist nation in its infancy. Add to this their persecuted status when they arrived in America, and the persecuted people outreach programs of the left during the 19th Century, and you end up with left-leaning multi-generational voters.

To a lesser extent, the left gathered American Catholics into their tent in the same way they did Jews and Blacks–all of whom they had persecuted and oppressed during the post-Civil War years (see our article True Champions of American Blacks, May 16, 2012), by first convincing them of their minority or non-normal status, and second, by offering them special protection in exchange for their sovereignty and their votes.

The time has come for Americans of every race and religion to come to the realization that selling their souls to the democratic party in exchange for empty promises has brought them nothing but disdain and reviling. It’s time for American Jews, Blacks, Catholics, Hispanics, Mormons, and every other category of citizen to realize that they are just Americans, without hyphenation or special status. Selling one’s soul to the devil never works out the way he promised.

Jimmy Obama

September 14, 2012 By Editor 4 Comments

President Jimmy Carter promised Hope and Change to an America dragged through the mud by a media feeding frenzy during the Nixon Watergate era.

The left got the white house handed to them, along with the congress, and nothing could stop the wholesale implementation of liberal-progressive policies. Anyone who lived during the Carter administration knows that it was a horrific time in American history.

Carter began his presidency by apologizing for American success, and it wasn’t long before Islamic extremists began slapping him around like the whimp he told them he was.

OPEC decided the US was powerless to oppose them, and they immediately began cutting oil supplies and raising prices. Carter’s response was classic Democrat, demonstrating a complete lack of understanding of global free markets–impose price freezes on gasoline in the US. World oil markets naturally sought out the more lucrative markets and we well recall the gas lines stretching for blocks as Americans waited for hours to get their tanks filled, reminiscent of the Depression Era shortages and rationing schemes.

In grand Neville Chamberlain style Carter immediately tried diplomatic talks with the Soviet Union feeling that thrill going up his leg as the Soviets put their signatures on pieces of paper with him. Of course, while agreeing to limit expansion, the USSR invaded Afghanistan behind his back, bitch-slapping the president of the United States in front of the entire world.

Carter also withdrew US support of the Shah of Iran, historically a strong U.S. ally in the Middle East, one of few who recognized Israel as a sovereign state. Without our support the Shah was forced into exile, replaced by a fundamentalist government, hostile to the U.S. Iranian students stormed the US embassy and took 53 Americans hostages, and held them as political prisoners for 444 days. Carter had been paring back the US military and saw his duty as Commander in Chief as unbecoming a Progressive President, and when it was time to send in a military extraction team to get our hostages out, the equipment failed in one of the greatest military blunders in history. The hostages were kept in Iran and paraded before the world media up until President Elect Ronald Reagan sent Iran the message, “Let my people go,” and they were brushed up and sent back immediately.

Carter, the Apologizer in Chief, also gave up US control of the American-built Panama Canal, affording China and other nations greater access to our easier trade routes, further harming US trade superiority. Seeing no deterrence, the Soviets further expanded their influence in the Western Hemisphere by helping leftists overthrow governments in Central and South America.

Democratic economic strategies had our US economy spiraling in a tailspin, with the prime rate at 21 percent, killing business expansion and the housing market. Of course, unemployment skyrocketed under these circumstances.

DOES ANY OF THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?

The editors have always said that American politics has been reduced to this: The Democrats take control of government based on promises of throwing a big party, and the next morning the Republicans are called in to clean up the mess.

At what point will America wake up to the reality that the policies of the left don’t work? How many of our embassies will be stormed and our faithful diplomats killed? It’s time to install a conservative government, and to keep a conservative government in place . . . and replace the long-term growth, development and expansion of personal liberty that we enjoyed for the first 100 years. Call me old fashioned.

Who Should Pay Their Fair Share?

September 11, 2012 By Editor 2 Comments

We hear so much these days of “fairness.” Indeed, liberals have been beating the drums hard that it is time for the “rich” to start paying their “fair share.”

In reality, 47 percent of the country pays no federal income taxes whatsoever, and the top 25 percent of earners pay 87 percent of the total burden. The top 1 percent pay 36% of all federal income taxes, while the top 5 percent pay 58%!

In truth, this distribution scheme is unfair, but it is not those who now bear a significantly higher portion of the burden who should be made to shoulder even more of the load.

Presidents Kennedy and Reagan both understood that to stimulate economic growth and bring more money into government’s coffers, it is necessary to LOWER taxes on those who shoulder the burdens, and free up the economy.

In his annual budget message to Congress, President Kennedy explained the reasoning behind lowering tax rates:

“Lower rates of taxation will stimulate economic activity and so raise the levels of personal and corporate income as to yield within a few years an increased — not a reduced — flow of revenues to the federal government.”

This is exactly what Mitt Romney plans to do to stimulate economic growth and to balance the federal budget–combined with numerous other things, like making the nation energy independent.

There is a story that I heard years ago about the fairness of the distribution of tax burdens that I think will be instructive. It’s precise origin is unknown as far as I know, but I would like to give proper credit if I could find the person who developed it.

Suppose that every day ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
The fifth would pay $1.
The sixth would pay $3.
The seventh would pay $7.
The eighth would pay $12.
The ninth would pay $18.
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.
So, that’s what they decided to do. The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve. ‘Since you are all such good customers, he said, ‘I’m going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20. Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. But what about the other six men – the paying customers? How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his ‘fair share?’ They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody’s share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer. So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man’s bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.

And so:

The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).
The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings).
The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28%savings).
The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).
The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).
The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).
Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings.

‘I only got a dollar out of the $20,’declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man,’ but he got $10!’

‘Yeah, that’s right,’ exclaimed the fifth man. ‘I only saved a dollar, too. It’s unfair that he got ten times more than I!’

‘That’s true!!’ shouted the seventh man. ‘Why should he get $10 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!’

‘Wait a minute,’ yelled the first four men in unison. ‘We didn’t get anything at all. The system exploits the poor!’

The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.

The next night the tenth man didn’t show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn’t have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill!

That is how our tax system really works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction — and it is they who stimulate the economy when we leave their earned income in their hands to spend in the economy. As that money passes through many hands, the wealth is distributed naturally, and it is taxed each time it changes hands.

But tax these too much, as we have, and attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier, as we now see in the case of many French, German and American citizens whose wealth has been threatened to the point of removing it from their native countries’ borders.

DNC Boos God

September 9, 2012 By Editor 2 Comments

After resounding and widespread criticism for rewriting the Democratic Party platform to eliminate all mentions of God, and Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, the White House sent a mandate to DNC leadership to reinsert the terms ASAP.

The Democratic Party, with the president at the helm, is seen by many to have become hostile toward Western religion in general, and Christianity specifically (see our article of May 28, 2012, Obama vs. The Catholic Church).

To help divert attention away from these hostilities, the duty fell to convention chairman, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, to present the proposed amendments to the convention, which proposed the tepid language:

“we need a government that stands up for the hopes, values and interests of working people and gives everyone willing to work hard the chance to make the most of their God-given potential.”

and

“it is and will remain the capital of Israel. The parties have agreed that Jerusalem is a matter for final status negotiations. It should remain an undivided city accessible to people of all faiths.”

Upon requesting a voice vote on the amendments, Villaraigosa asked for the ayes, followed by the nos, and appeared shocked that the nos outweighed the ayes. He stopped reading the teleprompter at that point, which instructed him to announce that the ayes had won the motion by the required two-thirds majority, and stumbled into a second request for voice votes. Upon receiving a second resounding majority of nos, he asked for yet a third vote.

When the third vote was even louder in its opposition to the amendments, Villaraigosa read the teleprompter and said that in his opinion, two-thirds of the voters had said “aye.”

With this announcement boos and shouting protests erupted in the auditorium, denouncing the amendments to mention God and acknowledge Jerusalem.

John Stewart Lampoons DNC

September 7, 2012 By Editor 5 Comments

The “tolerant” and “inclusive” democrats have been thoroughly outed by John Stewart on The Daily Show.

In a man-on-the-street styled interview of several convention attendees, The Daily Show demonstrated that all of that talk about “everyone is welcome in our tent” is just talk.

When asked about who was actually welcome and who was not, democrats at the convention repeatedly and consistently revealed that they are tolerant only of those who agree with them, and that they have nothing but disdain for anyone who dares believe in God, the Second Amendment, life for the unborn–or believe in limited government. Anyone who disagrees with them are “evil,” “Nazis,” and “rednecks.”

DNC Has a Stolen Platform?

September 5, 2012 By Editor 8 Comments

Communists Sue Democratic Party For Stealing Platform

Reprinted from Red Square

In a surprise move, the CPUSA (Communist Party USA) has announced a lawsuit against the Democratic Party and its leadership for the alleged theft of intellectual property. The plaintiffs claim that the entire so-called “new” Democratic agenda is, in fact, the product of a decades-long, painstaking campaign by CPUSA theorists, agitators, and underground subversive cells – which makes it the intellectual property of the Communist Party USA, protected by American copyright laws. “They stole our entire platform, rebranded it ‘progressive’, and claimed it as their own,” declared a CPUSA spokesperson at a press conference in San Francisco. “And we communists say, not so fast! Not in this country anyway, where we still have property rights and the rule of law, thank God! Actually, let me rephrase that…”

The Communist Party representative explained that government ownership of the auto and financial industries, redistribution of wealth, and free rationed healthcare have always been among the glorious CPUSA objectives: “We held on to these goals through all the difficult years of factional infighting, purges, denunciations, and heroic espionage on behalf of the Soviet intelligence services.

“This may seem like a foreign idea to you, but we sacrificed everything for it – our friends, our neighbors, and our nation. We suffered from all kinds of ulcers and split personality disorders by blindly following Stalin’s directives. We risked our chances of promotion within US government agencies by dutifully advancing Soviet foreign policy. And for what? So that some spoiled Democrats could ride on our backs to power while throwing us crumbs in the form of minor cabinet appointments?

“It’s just like taking someone else’s hard-earned income and redistributing it! … Never mind, bad example… It’s like infiltrating a respectable organization and taking over its management while engaging in subversive propaganda and the rewriting of history… Whoops, bad example again… It’s like being devoid of moral standards and rejecting all the norms and values of Judeo-Christian civilization… No, that was totally inappropriate. Scratch that…

“It’s time we got our fair share of credit from the current administration. As a gesture of good will, we would be pleased to accept the credit in the form of stimulus checks, subsidies, and loan guarantees for our members. If not now, when?”

CPUSA lawyers presented documents to the press showing that the Democratic platform of 2010, almost-line-for-line, reiterates the CPUSA platform of 1963. As the lead attorney for the plaintiffs pointed out, even a casual reading shows that while the rhetoric occasionally varies, the underlying policies are nearly identical.

“If the public knew that all the Democrat ideas are ours, we’d have more high-paying jobs in the Obama administration,” remarked the CPUSA spokesperson. “While all our members can’t be czars, we should at least get royalties. We can’t survive on government handouts alone, not yet anyway.”

This announcement seems to overturn past communist policy favoring the liquidation of czars and royalty.

The Democratic National Committee has declined to issue an official comment on the lawsuit, but a high-ranking White House official stated privately that this development is the result of an historically inevitable “convergence of opposites” – a philosophical concept outlined by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels – whereby the American public catches up with the glorious promise of communism, while the CPUSA becomes so American that it becomes embroiled in litigation. “Don’t quote me on this,” he added, “but Barack and I believe we can easily reconcile whatever minor differences we have with the CPUSA, and work together to prepare Americans for the final march, in well-organized and neat columns, towards our radiant progressive future.”

DNC Platform – More Taxes, Abortions and Sodomy

September 4, 2012 By Editor 3 Comments

As the Democratic party faithful gather together in Charlotte, NC, to launch their final appeal for votes in the November general election, their new platform has been shaped to maximize support from the fringes of American society.

Indeed, the Rainbow Coalition that has become the Democrats’ base has wandered ever farther from the center-right mainstream of America.

In an all-out class warfare charge up the final hill of this election cycle the Democrats have focused their efforts on diverting voters’ attention away from President Obama’s abysmal record, especially on the economy.

Indeed, democrats have been pouring hundreds of millions of dollars into attack ads attempting to refocus the issues on the GOP challenger’s record, re-written by the Democrats to make Governor Mitt Romney seem like a blood-thirsty capitalist who cares nothing about the average person or women, instead of the successful, hard-working, kind and generous man that thousands who know him personally have testified.

Rather than admitting that their leadership has plunged the nation into the worst economic recovery since the Great Depression, and condemned 23,000,000 Americans to the permanent unemployment roles (most of whom are women, many of whom have descended into poverty) or burger flipping jobs, Obama and his surrogates tell us that all is well, that his policies are working, and that the private sector is doing just fine–although we do need to increase government jobs.

Indeed, rather than propose anything that might put American’s back to work, the Democratic party is offering us higher taxes on job creators, which would gut their ability to create jobs, and the revenue from which would run the government for just 9 days.

They additionally assume that most American’s feel that taxpayer funded birth control and abortions are paramount, and that we need to immediately expand programs that pay for them.

And last, homosexual marriage is being proffered like candy at Halloween. That’s just what working American families need and are clamoring for–government sanctioned sodomy, and just like traditional marriages to be endowed with all of the benefits that are offered to loving couples who enter into a lifetime covenant of fidelity and mutual care, and who take upon themselves the responsibility of rearing children to promulgate society.

The election decision between the traditionally centrist platform of the GOP and the extreme left proposals of the Democrats has never been so clear. This election will truly determine whether America rediscovers its greatness, or continues its slide down that slimy hill into the abyss of every other society that has corrupted itself into oblivion.

Romney Has A Better Plan

August 31, 2012 By Editor Leave a Comment

Following testimonials from parishioners who spoke of a humble, kind man of tireless service, a solid endorsement from Hollywood A-lister Clint Eastwood and a rousing speech from Florida Senator Marco Rubio, GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney took the stage at the RNC and accepted his party’s nomination to be the president of the United States.

Sharing intimate details of his life and faith, Romney then made a strong case that under the Democrat leadership of President Obama the country is much worse off than it was 4 years ago.

Offering his alternative to 4 years of crushing pressure on America’s middle class, Governor Romney laid out his 5 Point Plan to bring America back from its economic brink:

First, by 2020, North America will be energy-independent by taking full advantage of our oil, our coal, our gas, our nuclear and our renewables.

Second, we’ll give our fellow citizens the skills they need for the jobs of today and the careers of tomorrow. When it comes to the school your child will attend, every parent should have a choice and every child should have a chance.

Third, we’ll make trade work for America by forging new trade agreements. And when nations cheat in trade, there will be unmistakable consequences.

And fourth, to assure every entrepreneur and every job creator that their investments in America will not vanish as have those in Greece, we will cut the deficit and put America on track to a balanced budget.

And fifth, we will champion small businesses, America’s engine of job growth. That means reducing taxes on business, not raising them. It means simplifying and modernizing the regulations that hurt small business the most. And it means that we must rein in the skyrocketing cost of health care by repealing and replacing ‘Obamacare.’

Romney appealed heavily to women in his acceptance speech, echoing a theme he established for the RNC, and quoted his mother as she was running for the U.S. Senate. “I can still see her saying, in her beautiful voice, ‘why should women have any less say than men about the great decisions facing our nation?'”

Embracing his entrepreneurial expertise and nearly meteoric success with the company he started with a handful of friends, Romney recounted their humble beginnings.

“So we started a new business called Bain Capital. The only problem was, while we believed in ourselves, not many other people did. We were young and had never done this before, and we almost didn’t get off the ground. In those days, sometimes I wondered if I had made a really big mistake. By the way, I’d thought about asking my church’s pension fund to invest, but I didn’t. I figured it was bad enough that I might lose my investors’ money, but I didn’t want to go to hell too.”

Romney made an obvious calculated decision to play it safe with his acceptance speech, going easy on a failed Obama, a man he painted as being in over his head, and simply introduced himself to moderate Independents and Democrats who may have tuned in, leaving the heavy lifting to previous speakers, most of whom hit it out of the park in detailing the many and profound failings of the current administration.

To illustrate the differences between the globally focused Obama presidency and his own American-centric vision, Mitt Romney offered, “President Obama promised to begin to slow the rise of the oceans — and to heal the planet. My promise is to help you and your family.”

Paul Ryan Defines GOP Message

August 30, 2012 By Editor 1 Comment

In his acceptance speech as the GOP vice presidential candidate at the RNC convention, Congressman Paul Ryan laid waste the false assertions of the Obama campaign while detailing the reasons for his support of Governor Mitt Romney and his plan for America’s comeback.

Both GOP candidates have been much maligned in a barrage of false attacks from Obama’s campaign, accusing them of everything from killing strangers’ wives to attempting to kill millions of seniors by destroying Medicare. Ryan fired back detailing how Governor Romney and he have a plan that will save Medicare from the Obama raids that have cost the program $716 billion, and will secure the program for several generations to come. He offered personal stories of how Medicare had helped him and his mother care for his grandmother while she was in sharp decline with Alzheimer’s, and how his own widowed mother was now utilizing its important benefits.

Representative Ryan, generally accepted as the nation’s leading congressional economic expert, further detailed how the Obama administration’s policies have plunged the nation into economic decline, and outlined the GOP plan to bring the economy back through tried-and-true fiscal policies which include lowering taxes as well as regulatory barriers to small business success. He recounted the President’s many failures, like channeling many billions of taxpayer dollars to political contributors and cronies.

“It all started off with stirring speeches, Greek columns, the thrill of something new,” Ryan reminisced. “Now all that’s left is a presidency adrift, surviving on slogans that already seem tired, grasping at a moment that has already passed, like a ship trying to sail on yesterday’s wind.” The line that brought the greatest response was “College graduates should not have to live out their 20s in their childhood bedrooms, staring up at fading Obama posters and wondering when they can move out and get going with life.”

Ryan detailed tongue-in-cheek generational differences with Mitt Romney, but emphasized their shared philosophies, faith and goals for America. Pointing out Mitt Romney’s litany of successes in life, Ryan questioned at what point did hard work and success become a negative, as the Obama campaign has been claiming.

Echoing the need for “plain talk” with the American people about the serious nature of the nation’s fiscal problems raised the evening before by Governor Chris Cristie, Ryan pledged, “We will not duck the tough issues, we will lead.”

Ann Romney Delivers Again

August 29, 2012 By Editor 5 Comments

The Republican National Convention saw the beginning of its successful rise to power last night as Ann Romney stood before America and outlined the social and economic philosophies of herself and her husband, the Republican candidate for president, Mitt Romney. She began her speech with a theme that permeates their life: Love.

Mrs. Romney was elegant and visually stunning as she addressed the nation, focusing on the important calling of women in American society, especially as an overstressed economy has consistently burdened women in their roles as mothers and wives, and often, breadwinners.

“I love you women!” she exclaimed. “And I hear your voices.”

She shared some intimate details about her immigrant parents, as well as the personal struggles of her young family, beginning with a humble basement apartment, a “pasta and tuna fish” subsistence, and a desk made of an old door propped up on two sawhorses. Mitt Romney was portrayed as a man who worked hard to build his fledgling company into an American success story, putting tens of thousands of people to work and helping to build the retirement portfolios of a like number of hard working people.

Indeed, building on her love theme, Ann Romney described her husband as a generous man, one who gives from his heart, not to be seen and praised for his generosity. “Mitt doesn’t like to talk about how he has helped others because he sees it as a privilege, not a political talking point,” in what political observers will instantly recognize as a contrast with those who take credit for everything they can, even when credit isn’t deserved. Indeed, Mitt Romney comes from a far different background and philosophy–one that abhors self-aggrandizement–which makes him an outsider to D.C. politics.

In a resounding testimonial of her husband’s ability and will to tackle the problems that beset our great nation Mrs. Romney assured the country “you can trust Mitt.” “This man will not fail,” and, “This man will not let us down. This man will lift up America.”

In her landmark speech Mrs. Romney entirely debunked the left’s attempts to portray her husband as a greedy tycoon, and her as a spoiled millionaire’s wife. Indeed, they are the all-American family, an American success story. They are exactly what America needs, at this time when our standards and expectations have been lowered to the point of . . . malaise.

Our $16 Trillion Debt

August 25, 2012 By Editor 1 Comment

President Obama and his associates on the left follow the Keynesian theory of economics, the idea that when economies wane, government deficit spending will reignite the flame. To that end the Obama administration has spent trillions of dollars in 3 years, 40% of which has been borrowed, and on which the country is now paying unsustainable interest.

The national debt stood at $10 trillion when Barack Obama moved into the Oval Office just 3.5 short years ago. That nearly incomprehensible amount represented the unbridled deficit spending of generations of fiscally irresponsible presidents and congresses—Democratic and Republican. It was the cumulative debt of the nation, spanning more than 200 years.

Candidate Obama said that President Bush and congress had forced the national debt up by $4 trillion in 8 years, and called it “irresponsible and unpatriotic.” (Obama video below) The editors agree. But how much more irresponsible and unpatriotic is the addition of $6 trillion to that amount in just 3.5 years? It is treason, by Obama’s reasoning.

The national debt will turn over to $16 trillion in mere days, a 60 percent increase during Obama’s short time in office. It represents a massive federal government spending spree reminiscent of a teen who mistakenly believes he has won the lottery. If Obama is re-elected the national debt will exceed $22 trillion by the end of his second term. To get a handle on the enormity of this number the editors have consulted mathematicians who tell us that America probably does not have 22 trillion leaves on its trees. Plus, this is only actual dollars out the door; it does not include the herculean amounts of entitlement obligations not on the books, which add $ tens of trillions over the next two decades.

Let’s get back to our current debt. What’s the problem with a $16 trillion debt, you ask?

When Americans turn off the alarm clock in the morning and hustle off to work, the first $1.2 billion they generate every day must be siphoned off of the economy just to pay the current interest on the national debt. That amount grows each day as additional money is borrowed to run the government, and as unpaid interest on the debt compounds. It will never be decreased at current rates, but only increase, because we are never paying down the principle we owe, but adding to it at the rate of $10 million every minute! Your great-great-great-grandchildren will still be paying the interest on the money Obama’s government borrows today.

The federal budget is up to $3.8 trillion a year, with multiple stimulus packages filled with crony payoffs and pork barrel spending wasting additional trillions, without any economic return to the American people. The economy is worsening, with real unemployment and underemployment over 15 percent. Americans’ personal wealth has shrunk by 40% since Obama took office.

Government leaders should have put the country on a fast-track to pay off the national debt 20 years ago . . . and 10 years ago . . . and 3 years ago. Candidate Obama promised a balanced budget in his first term. Now, those on the left boisterously proclaim that the only answer to reducing the deficit and debt is to raise taxes “on the wealthy.” In fact, as we demonstrated in our article of May 17 of this year Bringing Fairness to Taxes, “the top 25 percent of earners pay 87 percent of the total burden. The top 1 percent pay 36% of all federal income taxes, while the top 5 percent pay 58%.” Indeed, Obama’s confiscatory tax hike scheme would deplete the wealth of the job creators and the proceeds would run our federal government for a mere 9 days.

Time after time Keynesian economics has failed. So why do our universities still tout it as the model for our own economy? Why are our government leaders drawing all available dollars, current and future, into the abyss of federal spending? How many jobs were created with the shovel ready projects promised by President Obama as he highjacked $900 billion in the first stimulus package?

Debt creates poverty. Ever family knows this. Those who frequent the check cashing-payday loans establishments have learned the hard way that it is a recipe for financial disaster. So when will our government leaders learn the lesson? We recall well as Jimmy Carter addressed the nation and scratched his head in confusion as he explained that he had implemented all of the university approved, liberal orthodox policies, yet the country appeared to be languishing in a “malaise.” These are people that don’t seem to learn from past mistakes. Debt equals poverty. Perhaps this is why Americans are becoming poorer with every passing day.

There is only one possible solution–the federal government (and state governments) must immediately stop spending. We, the American taxpayer, and the main trustors of the American trust, must cut up the credit cards and end the binge spending of a presidency gone wild.

2016: Obama’s America a Must See

August 24, 2012 By Editor 4 Comments

Spielberg producer Gerald R. Molen, with a list of production credits that include Jurassic Park, Schindler’s List, Hook, Minority Report, Twister, Days of Thunder, and Twister has brought his considerable talents and personal reputation to the political documentary 2016: Obama’s America.

The movie is based on the publications of College President Dinesh D’Souza, and examines the question, “If Barack Obama wins a second term, where will we be in 2016?”

D’Souza, born and raised in India himself, explains in the documentary that it is not until one comprehends Obama from the anti-colonialist views of his radical Kenyan father, whose larger-than-life influence on Obama’s childhood psyche helped steer the younger Obama into paths that seek to redistribute America’s wealth to the 99 percent of the rest of the world, that the entire picture of Obama’s core motivations becomes clear.

Anti-colonialism is a movement against nations who have exercised their might to rob weaker nations of their resources. The philosophy is closely aligned with communism and seeks to strip the wealthy nations of their gain and return it to the poorer nations from which it allegedly originated.

As Barack Hussein Obama II developed his worldview, it was under the close mentoring of a card-carrying American communist, which lasted for several years, at the insistence of his maternal grandfather. By his own admission, at college Obama likewise sought out communist and socialist companions and professors with whom he could commiserate America’s level of undeserved wealth and influence in the world.

The documentary’s assertions are backed up with eye witness interviews and accounts, as well as Obama’s own voice, taken from speeches and audio versions of his own books.

If the acts and decisions of Barack Hussein Obama II have seemed out of step with every other American president, Democrat or Republican, and appear to be a detriment to America, its economy and citizens, as well as to its allies while benefiting those who are unfriendly to us and seek our debasement, this documentary appears to present indisputable evidence of a very clear and present danger–living in the White house.

Liberal Terrorist Attack In DC

August 16, 2012 By Editor 2 Comments

America gets a good look at the face of tolerance. Yesterday a heavily armed liberal terrorist associated with the LGBT movement made his way into the headquarters of the pro-family, pro-life organization, Family Research Council (FRC), and opened fire when challenged by unarmed building operations manager, Leo Johnson.

Floyd Lee Corkins, a 28 year old volunteer affiliated with The DC Center for the LGBT Community, reportedly exclaimed, “I don’t like your politics,” before pulling his semi-automatic weapon from his backpack and shooting Johnson. Although Johnson was hit in the arm, he still attacked the terrorist and wrestled him to the ground and disarmed him before Corkins could gain access to the areas where dozens of FRC employees and volunteers worked. Corkins cried at that point, “Don’t shoot me, it was not about you, it was what this place stands for.”

Corkins’ backpack contained 50 rounds of ammunition and 15 Chick-fil-A sandwiches, accessories that Corkins apparently felt were appropriate to a terrorist attack on innocent, unarmed family people.

Leo Johnson is a hero for disarming the terrorist before he could carry out his mandate, force-feeding bullets and Chick-fil-A sandwiches to those who have the audacity to speak up for traditional morals and pro-family matters in America. Liberal groups like the Southern Poverty Law Center had recently dubbed the Family Research Council a “hate group,” which leftists call anyone who disagrees with their radical views.

Mainstream news outlets are doing their best to bury the story that one of their own has launched a terrorist attack on a peaceful, family centered organization just blocks from the White House.  He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named has similarly had precious little to say about the attack. The FBI has officially indicated the attack a terrorist hate crime.

Presidential candidate Mitt Romney is the only candidate to express appropriate concern:”There is no place for such violence in our society. My prayers go out to the wounded security guard and his family, as well as all the people at the Family Research Council whose sense of security has been shattered by today’s horrific events.”

America will be watching to see if this attack, like many others that have been tolerated by the liberal mainstream media and those who currently but temporarily run our national government, will go unreported and undenounced.

Romney’s Education Overhaul

August 14, 2012 By Editor Leave a Comment

One of the five key elements of presidential contender Mitt Romney’s stronger economy plan is overhauling America’s education system — The Skills to Succeed. The bullet points of this education update are:

-Give every family access to a great school and quality teachers
-Provide access to affordable and effective higher education options
-Focus job training programs on building valuable skills that align with opportunities
-Attract and retain the best and the brightest from around the world

As we wrote in our article of June 11 of this year, NEA Report Card: F, the education problem has been growing in America for decades, as the costs of educating our children skyrocket and students are churned out of the public education system with less and less actual education.

A decades-long growing battle between liberals and conservatives over education is culminating in calls to either get the government and unions out of education altogether, or to entirely overhaul the system.

The first bullet point – affording every family access to a great school and quality teachers is a broadly discussed function of reversing decades of damage done by the teachers’ unions and leftist bureaucrats and administrators. Their intractable resistance to objective standards of excellence and testing of teachers for competency – or even compensation based on merit and results, has left them exposed as the typical “more money for less work” union members they have become. Merit pay for teachers and tuition vouchers for students, to take to any school they desire to attend, will have the immediate and permanent effect of forcing schools to compete for their livelihood—a capitalistic concept quite foreign to the unions and their Democratic partners.

The second bullet point – providing access to affordable and effective higher education options is a cutting-edge concept that is as yet, undeveloped in the public arena. The Federalist Press editors hereby proffer a plan that will revolutionize American higher education.

The major problems with the current system are: 1) costs have artificially skyrocketed and the taxpayer is left holding the bag for much of it while students incur decades of debt; and 2) leftists dominate the system and classrooms, leaving indoctrinated students with little usable education and mush for brains.

The editors propose a new higher education option, patterned somewhat after the current CLEP and DANTES programs. In this age of digital access it is feasible to launch a program that provides students with online classes, with lectures by top experts and stunning graphics and demonstrations. A basic 2 year core curriculum will ensure that all students receive across-the-board instruction in math, science, English, history, etc. Then specialization will occur in 3rd and 4th year online classes. This is essentially how colleges and universities are supposed to offer classes now, but they have strayed far from their mandate.

Third and fourth year specialization courses in the government offered online university should emphasize productive degree programs initially; science, engineering, language, history, chemistry, education, pre-medicine, pre-law, etc., with some liberal arts programs being added as the system is more fully developed to accommodate their greater need for interactivity.

To help reduce cheating on exams, a major problem in the current system as well, testing centers should be established for this online university system with certified proctors to administer computerized tests. Students can take online courses at their own pace, and show up to take the exams as soon as they have completed the course.

Costs, which will be only a fraction of the current $500 billion, can be shared by students and the taxpayers. Students can pay a low flat fee for each course, and the federal government can dramatically cut its higher education budget and finance the remaining cost of the online university system.

This proposal will provide higher education for anyone who wants it, and anyone who is self-motivated enough to do the work. It doesn’t get any easier, cheaper or better than this.

Harry Reid Releases Romney Taxes

August 8, 2012 By Editor 5 Comments

After making shocking but unsubstantiated claims recently that Republican Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney has failed to pay taxes for 10 years, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid released secretly obtained copies of Mitt Romney’s tax returns today according to an unnamed source, proving that Romney has paid no taxes for at least one of those recent tax years.

Upon close inspection of the tax returns the White House authorities who authenticated the birth certificate of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named have similarly attested to the authenticity of the Romney tax returns.

The most disturbing information discovered in the tax returns is that Presidential hopeful Romney made over $23 million and paid absolutely no income taxes.

The Senate Majority Leader made his stunning public announcement from a makeshift podium set up at the Disney World Dumbo ride, according to an unnamed source. Aids passed out copies of the 2009 Romney tax returns as Reid put on his Mickey Mouse ears and boarded the ride.

The Western Pandemic of Islam

July 27, 2012 By Editor Leave a Comment

Islam is self-proclaimed to be “the religion of peace,” and in our uncompromising quest for political correctness we deny ourselves the merest observation that “they” may be different from “us” in any measurable respect. Indeed, as Muslims walk the streets of western countries they do so in relative equality, and to the extent they are polite and attempt to blend with the local populations, they are welcomed as fellow citizens of the world, and extended the hand of brotherhood.

Each of us is free (as of this writing) to see the world from his own view, and we would hope that true bigotry, religious or otherwise, would not be condoned in any civilized society. However, there is a growing elephant in the room, and at some point one of us is going to have to point it out and we will all have to discuss it.

The Federalist Press editors enjoy many connections with friends and associates in Europe, and for years have listened with growing concern as anecdotal stories of increasing troubles with Muslim immigrants have been shared. Political correctness has run completely amok in Europe, and leftist governments and their state controlled media are loathe to admit that Muslim immigrants have gotten the best of them.

Indeed, as Muslim populations swell in Western countries we find certain patterns emerging—patterns which we are beginning to see in the Western hemisphere as well.

As the emphasis on marriage and the traditional family in Western countries has diminished, and the practice of abortion has increased, native local populations have sputtered.

Few seem to understand that the Fertility Rate (FR) of most of Western Europe has fallen below 2.11—the point of sustainability. A rate of 1.8 is considered extremely difficult to recover from, and 1.3 is nearly impossible. At this rate a culture will simply fade to oblivion. As of 2008 these are the Fertility Rates of a few European nations: France-1.8; England-1.6; Greece-1.3; Germany-1.3; Italy-1.2; and Spain-1.1. The average FR in 31 European Union countries is 1.38.

So why is the population of Europe growing so rapidly? Muslim immigration, and Muslim Fertility Rates.

For example, France’s FR of 1.8 is offset by the Muslim FR of 8.1. In fact, the south of France now has more Islamic Mosques than Christian churches. Also, 30% of its children under the age of 21 are Muslims, and the number climbs to 45% in large cities. At these rates, France will be an Islamic Republic within a generation.

In the Netherlands 50% of all newborns are Muslim, and in 10 years the population will approach 50% Muslim. These numbers hold true in Belgium as well.

England, where Muslim men were just discovered to be running sex slavery rings of local white girls, has seen a 30-fold increase in its Muslim population since 1970, and now has over 1,000 mosques.

There is a pattern to Muslim immigration into western countries. First, we see a wholesale drain on social services. In some publicized cases we find Muslim men collecting over $15,000 monthly from state welfare systems, receiving per capita stipends for each of their many children and wives (yes, wives). The social welfare systems of most chic EU members are depleted as a result, adding to the already heavily strained budgets that must pay out large pensions and benefits to union members who retired at young ages.

Then, these “peaceful” Islamic adherents tend to become more demanding and violent as their percentage of population grows in these countries, and leaders and agitators begin to demand “religious rights” (extended privileges and Sharia Law) for Muslims, occupying the streets or rioting and burning in protest.

Are western alarmists the only ones who see an imminent takeover of the West?

“There are signs that Allah will grant victory to Islam in Europe without swords, without guns, without conquest. We don’t need terrorists, we don’t need homicide bombers. The fifty-plus million Muslims there will turn it into a Muslim continent within a few decades.” Muammar Gaddafi.

Perhaps Americans can afford complacency, many seem to believe. In fact, Canada, with its FR of 1.6, has had an increase in its population of over 2,000,000 in this past decade. How is that possible? Muslim immigration and FR.

What is America’s FR? It is down to a nearly unrecoverable 1.6. However, with the rapid Latino influx, our combined FR is 2.11—the bare minimum required to sustain a population, albeit a changing one. How about America’s Muslim population, you ask? In 1970 it was 100,000. Since then, it is difficult to tell, because the government doesn’t track them very closely (it’s not PC), but they tell us it is somewhere between a few million and 9,000,000.

Muslims are indeed beginning to become extremely vocal about demanding their “religious rights” in America. Demands for Sharia Law and examples of honor killings are springing up all around us. Liberal PC is enabling the behavior. We have witnessed that if Bill O’Reilly merely mentions on The View that it was Muslims who attacked Americans on 9/11 there is an orchestrated and exaggerated protest exodus of the hosts to enforce their PC speech limits—thus ensuring that no practical discussion occurs about safety or self-preservation.

With the rise of militant Islam in the West, it is time for a serious discussion on the direction we want our nations to take. If we do not make some tough, non-PC decisions soon, our granddaughters will be wearing burkas and will be stoned to death in the streets for whispering the name of Jesus. The current talk of gay marriage will be reduced to public beheadings for homosexuality. This is not speculation, but a mathematical certainty. If we continue at the current rate, Muslims will become the majority populations in all Western countries, and guess how they’ll vote. Violence that invariably attends Islam will be widespread, filling our streets, just as it does every day in countries with majority Muslim populations.

Of course, the liberal sophist will scoff publically at such an assertion; but one day in the streets of a majority Muslim population is all the proof needed to support it.

To those truly peace loving practitioners of Islam who live among us, and who refuse to follow their Eastern leaders into paths of Jihad, Dar-es-Salaam, Sharia, and cleansing violence, we encircle you in arms of brotherhood and welcome you as fellow-citizens. But we are at the point where we need to receive extremely clear declarations of peace and non-violence from any Muslim that seeks a place among us. To blindly pretend that a rogue elephant is not standing in the middle of the room is a foolish and dangerous path.

Feds Retaliate Against Romney Supporters

July 24, 2012 By Editor 3 Comments

Frank VanderSloot is a good man, personally known to the Federalist Press editors in a non-political context for over 30 years.

The hardworking Idaho businessman was recently targeted by the re-elect Obama campaign for giving $1 million to “Restore Our Future” to support Mitt Romney, and his personal information was posted on leftist websites. As a result of being singled out by the administration for his poor taste in presidential candidates Mr. VanderSloot has been harassed, investigated, maligned and threatened by thugs on the left, all in an effort to convince other potential financial supporters that the price of backing Mitt Romney will always include personal destruction.

Mr. VanderSloot’s story was publicized in the press and he blew the whistle on the Obama campaign’s dirty tactics by telling what Obama supporters had been doing to defame him.

Now, in an abuse of power of Orwellian proportions the administration has personally gone after Mr. VanderSloot, serving him with an audit notice from the IRS. Two weeks after receiving the IRS notice, VanderSloot was served notice that the Labor Department would be auditing records related to “foreign employees” working on his Idaho Falls cattle ranch. Suddenly, the Obama Administration is interested in illegal aliens working in the U.S.

Mr. VanderSloot is a longtime supporter of state and national republican campaigns, and serves on the Romney campaign as a co-chairman.

The Obama campaign has not returned press inquiries about their assault on Mr. VanderSloot, and nor have the IRS or Labor Department.
The documents requested by the IRS have been turned over to his accountant, VanderSloot said, and the Labor Department audit is just getting started, but he will fully comply and expects no problems.

Stand firm Frank, Americans support you, and you will be vindicated in November. We have seen this before, and tyrants and despots are eventually overthrown, one way or another.

Congressman Nugent On SCOTUS Obamacare Ruling

July 24, 2012 By Editor Leave a Comment

Since the Supreme Court’s ruling on the President’s healthcare law a few weeks ago, a lot of people on both sides of the issue have asked about my reaction to it. It probably goes without saying at this point that I think the law was an enormous mistake from a policy standpoint – $800 billion in new taxes ($675 billion in the most recent estimates by the Joint Committee on Taxation plus roughly another $125 billion in taxes from their 2010 estimates of the individual mandate, employer mandate, and other revenues – likely to go up further), plus $500 billion in cuts to Medicare, zero done to control the growing costs in healthcare, etc – but setting aside the specific issue of health reform, my biggest concerns surround the ruling itself and the precedent it sets. These are issues that frankly, I think the media has a responsibility to make sure Americans are informed about.

Here is the short version. The Supreme Court ruled that the individual mandate requiring Americans to buy health insurance could not be allowed under Congress’ constitutional authority to regulate interstate commerce. The Court said very plainly that the federal government does not have the authority to require you to buy something and penalize you for failing to do it.

But in the same breath, citing Congress’ authority to levy taxes, the Court said that although the federal government can’t force you to buy health insurance, they can compel you to buy it by taxing you if you don’t. In a nutshell, the government can’t fine you for not buying something, but they can hit you with a tax penalty if you don’t… I frankly don’t see a meaningful difference between the two.

Think about it this way: the federal government has long been able to encourage certain behavior through the tax code (think about the mortgage interest tax deduction), but it has never been able to compel you to go out and buy a house by threatening to hit you with a tax penalty if you didn’t. That is a huge difference. On page 39 of his majority opinion, Chief Justice John Roberts used the example of energy efficient windows. He suggested that although the federal government couldn’t require you to buy energy efficient windows, it could essentially force you to do so by levying a tax on you if you don’t.

I don’t think anybody out there disputes the benefits of having health insurance or lowering your electricity bill, but in the United States of America, those decisions have always been up to the people – not up to the federal government. And regardless of how you feel about the healthcare law, I think this is something that all Americans should consider very carefully. Should Congress have the power to force American citizens into buying things that they don’t want? Should the federal government be able to force you to buy a certain car, or windows, or insurance, or anything else that the Congress thinks you should have? Is that a power that We The People want to surrender?

I don’t believe it is. But that’s what the Supreme Court has done here. Regardless of whether or not the President’s healthcare law is repealed, the precedent has been set. The government now has the legal authority to force you to buy things. That wasn’t the case before the ruling and it is not something that is easily undone. Following on the heels of our Independence Day, when all Americans gather together to celebrate our freedom and the sacrifices of those who made it possible, this is an issue that I think we should all consider very carefully. Are we less free as a people in the wake of this ruling and is that something we should be comfortable with?

You know where I stand.

Congressman Richard B. Nugent
